I am a healthy eater. It is mostly my moms fault. She always made us eat healthy when I was growing up and I liked it. Sure, I like to bake, alot, but it is always from scratch and somehow that just seems healthier? (Try to make sense of that somehow) and I am trying to cut back on how much I bake. Like trying not to do it every single day.

I don't know. I would rather eat kale, swiss chard, lentils, edamame, tofu, bulgur, quinoa, beans, hummus, berries, watermelon, etc. than a cheeseburger anyday. It is just my personal preference.
Matt, on the other hand, well he could survive on McDonalds. After watching Super Size Me, he actually wanted to eat a Big Mac. Wierd? Yes.

Well, just like everyone else, we compromise.
I know Matt likes Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries or Strawberry PopTarts for breakfast and because I think it is better to eat something than nothing, at least if you are Matt, I keep a few of his favorite junk foods in stock. I try to hide them from the kids and most of the time they are ok with the fact that certain things are only for Dad.
But sometimes, they throw a fit and really beg for some of it. I break down and give them the occasional PopTart.
How boring would it be if Matt and I loved the same kinds of food? I don't know, but sometimes I wonder.......

What a busy Week!

I don't even know where the week went. It flew by so quickly. I haven't had a chance to do anything on the computer at all. I have had friends here and with school, games and everything, it has just been really busy.
Jonah has been obsessed with the football and basketball that he got for Christmas. He has been dribbling in the house like a madman, and even broke a light fixture, by dribbling upstairs too hard and shattering the light on the floor below. He goes to lots of the high school b-ball games with Matt and practices shooting and dribbling. He loves running around with his football too. He also told me that he wants a "I love Sports" theme for his next birthday party. Matt couldn't be happier. I just had to do a little blurb about Jones, because he is at school all day and I feel like I don't get as many pictures of him as I do the girls.

Of course, everyone enjoys our dance parties. I just don't know why they can't keep their shirts on at all.

This is the position that I found Ryanne in the other morning. I thought it looked so funny. She found one of the warmest spots in the house and put her head right up to it. Clothes would probably help too.

And of course, Savannah putting the play-dough toys to real use. Gotta love it!

A couple of weeks ago, Matt got a call from his former boss, Kurt. He had an opening at his clinic and wanted Matt to come back and work with him.

We thought about it and prayed and thought about it some more.

Matt really enjoys his job out here. He is doing what he wanted to do. But he is gone every night of the week, works every Saturday and we hardly ever see him. He doesn't get paid great money and works way more hours than he gets credit for.

I love being around my parents and siblings, old and new friends.

I love being able to walk to church.

I love being able to walk to Jonah's school.

There are lots of good things about living here.

But, we are moving back to Georgia.

The job offer was too good to not take it. Matt is going to be getting a raise, won't have to work any Saturdays and will be home every night.

We will be surrounded by trees, make more new friends and see our old friends. We will get to see our cousins more.

I just wish it was easier to get from here to there or there to here!!!!

Matt will be heading out there in March and the rest of us will follow at the end of May, when school is out.

I am excited because I truly love living in Georgia but I will miss people and things here too!

Here are some pictures to go with the concert notes

No, Matt didn't go to the concert with 5 beautiful single ladies- I am just really good at avoiding pictures :)
The groupies meeting Griffin( I am the picture taker) p.s. what is that really wierd thing on the wall?

The opening band- Galanis- they were pretty good too.

Rocking

Matt pops up again
This guy was really good

Lar gazing at her new fave artist, well besides Chris Martin Isn't she cute?

Watch out Lar- the monsters are coming for you!
That one is grabbing your head!! Ahhhh!!!!!

So one of my bestest friends in the whole world came back from her fun trip to the Southern Hemisphere last week. She wanted to go see her FAVE artist- Griffin House- who was playing in salt lake last night.
Hey, sounds fun right?
I am not really that into music, but This guy is Awesome. Plus he plays in really small venues, so we were right in the front row jamming. Heather has seen him a couple of times and all 8 of us that went last night LOVED it!
We got to meet him after and he signed everybody's shirts and CD's.
The only downside was the fact that the little shack he was playing in had a really cold cement floor and I was wearing extremely thin socks and shoes. My feet were like blocks of ice by the end of the night, but it was pretty much worth it.
If you hear of him, or have a chance to get his cd- do it.
He rocks..
p.s. I finally figured out how to upload a video to my blog post.
THANK YOU JACOB!!!1
P.P.S.
you should listen to his song, but first scroll all the way down to the bottom of my blog and pause my music (annoying, i know- sorry!)

Thank Goodness I have Stylish Sisters!

I just wanted to say first, that it is a dangerous thing to lay down with your 6-year old child at 7:30 pm, because if you fall asleep and stay asleep, you will probably wake up rested, a little too early! oh well!
Last friday we went in to visit Lar at her house and ran some errands with her.
Ryanne and Savannah love going to visit Lar. First off, because she is a great aunt and super fun to be around, but also because her house is full of fun stuff. Jewelry, stuffed animals, cute clothes, hats, candy, etc. Anything new is fun, right?
Luckily Lar is fun and stylish and she doesn't mind sharing her fab stuff with her nieces.
I say luckily because, sorry, but I am no fashionista. never will be and it is ok with me. I don't really care about clothes or fashion. I still want my girlies to look cute, but when it comes to accessories, i just don't have any. I keep it pretty plain and simple.
The girls were feeling pretty stylish and decided to pose a bit.
On a side note- I am glad to see that I am not the only person that still has a stuffed animal from childhood!
Ry checking out the shimmery, sleek pocketbook
Savannah trying to figure out a bracelet

And I have to mention that Audrey is super fun and stylish too. I am sure if we were visiting her the girls would get just as much joy and attention out of her accessory possibilities!

Rhetorical Questions

How do you go about deciding where you want to live for the rest of your life? What are the most important factors?

Why am I not sleeping right now?

Is there a reason why menu ideas always come to me when I am trying to sleep?

Who invented electric blankets? They are my favorite person in the entire world. Well, besides the actual person who bought me the blanket.
Will the little bobcat I fell asleep with @ 7:30 in my bed freak out in a couple hours when she finds out she is transferred to her own beD?
How can it already be tax season again? I feel like just yesterday I saw all those little people with their ridiculous statue of liberty costumes standing on the corner in the freezing cold.
Why do I always have bags under my eyes? Will the girls basketball team actually play on the last day of the state tournament? Should I rearrange my anniversary plans, just in case?
Why do overly tired children find it so hard to fall asleep in the car?
When can I have a karaoke party with a dessert buffet that involves everyone I know?
Where do you buy karaoke CDs that actually have good songs?
Why am I always so thirsty at night?
Will Andrew and I have a great workout at the gym in the morning?
Can I actually have a normal dream for once?
Ok- I think I got it all out.
I am going back to bed

Letter Tag

All you have to do is make a list of ten of your favorite things. But there is a little catch. Everything on the list has to start with a specific letter of the Alphabet. That letter is randomly assigned by the blogger who you are playing with!

Heidi assigned me the Letter L

1-Laura Dawn- she is my favorite thing (can I call her a thing?)- that starts with the letter L. Actually, she is the first thing I think of when I see the Letter L. I love Lar because she is the best little sister ever. My mom always tells the story about when Lar was born and I told her to "bring that baby here right now!"- that kinda explains our relationship- I always want Lar to come here right now!

2- Lentils- I love lentils. I love red lentils the most, but any kind really. Lentil soup, lentil wraps and the most delicious red lentil dip I have ever tasted seriously. YUM!

3-Learning- I love learning about new places, things, ideas, foods, people, anything really.

4- Light- I love light. It is my favorite thing, especially this time of year when it can seem so dark and gloomy sometimes. There is nothing better than the bright sun shining down on you. It even makes snow look pretty (Kinda tricky!)

5- Lemons and Limes- I just had to group these two together since they are both citrus fruits and the are seen together alot. They add flavor and zest to everything. They smell amazing and they can do some pretty amazing things. I love it when my hands smell like lemons.

6-Laughter- What is better than hearing laughter or having a good laugh? It always makes you feel good and it spreads very easily. I don't know anyone who doesn't love a good laugh. My favorite is when you laugh so hard you cry.

7-Legs- They get me where I need to go. They are strong and healthy. They can run, jump, dance- basically do whatever I want them to. I am glad they work.

8-Library- Now if you live where I do, take into account this doesn't necessarily mean our local library, we all know why. I do like libraries in general though, even my own personal one, because books are one of my favorite things. I love reading, looking, skimming-whatever- books I love you!

9-Lilacs-One of my favorite smells ever. We used to have these growing all around our house when I was growing up and they are amazing, plus very pretty. The color is nice too.

10-Love- what can I say? I am a sucker for Love. I like feeling love, I like loving other people- Love is basically great all around. It is wonderful to share. I like it when it grows. Yeah, I am a fool for love.

If you want to play the alphabet tag game- leave me a note in the comments and I will assign you a letter!

How to Apply Makeup, Part 2

I am sure everyone learned enough about make-up from the last time these two got together and you are probably asking yourself why in the world anyone would let them get more makeup in their hands. Well- its called sisterly love. We let Jonah and Ryanne go to the dollar store and pick out 1 little gift for their siblings and aunt/uncles. We promised not to influence their choices at all and this is what you get folks! (At least they used it all in one sitting :)

Thank you Grandma Becky and Papa Frank for Our Beetle Digging Excavation

For the very exciting beetle excavation! It was fun and the real-beetle-encased in glass-necklace, has been around Jonah's neck since he got it out.
