Rest In Peace UGA VI

This is the story

Wall-E

I didn't think I was going to like this one. I thought it looked cute enough, but really wasn't expecting anything too amazing or great. We loaded up the kids and went to a matinee as a family. Somehow, even though Savannah dumped popcorn all over the floor and was being extremely loud, I actually got to watch this movie and I really liked it. I would go as far as to say that it is my favorite Pixar movie since Toy Story. It is surprising and I really thought it had some good adult undertones. I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't seen it, so I won't really go into any details. Savannah is not at the age yet where she can actually sit through a movie, but the other kids enjoyed it. I recommend it and hope you enjoy it!

Our Latest Fun in the Kitchen

Lets just say, this is what happens when you let your kids loose in the kitchen. We really don't ever eat jello, but when I was cleaning out my mom's pantry, I saw these awesome jello molds that I remember hanging on our wall when I was a kid and I also thought it would be a great way to spend J day, making Jello with Jonah in charge. I let Jonah and Ryanne each choose a mold and we mixed up some jello. Little did I know that they would want to eat the whole thing! I am not sure where Jonah got the idea to throw up a peace sign, hmmmm

They didn't end up eating all of it, just making a very big mess (Ryanne, that is).

For K day we did Kebabs, and I thought it would be fun for the kids to be able to make their own. They did seem a little bit more interested in eating something that they actually put together.

My Mom is the Greatest aka Happy Birthday Mom or I am the Luckiest Daughter in the World

My mom is the best. She is the best at alot of different things. She is the best mom, the best teacher, the best listener, the best friend, the best example, the best babysitter, the best at caring for people. I love her. I could go on all day about the ways that she inspires me. She is so gentle and caring. She never raises her voice. She takes time to listen and laugh. She loves to laugh. She isn't caught up in material things or the media. She has a great self-image. She compliments everyone around her. She is willing to go through thick and thin with you. She will cry with you or let you cry on her shoulder. She willingly and freely gives hugs, tickles the grandkids, and is just the greatest. I love her so much and always have felt the I am the luckiest person in the world to have her as my mom. I wanted to make her special cake for her birthday and since I know a little bit more about cake decorating now then I did last year at this time I went for it. My mom loves daisies and I thought a light blue cake with daisies would be just right. For more details about the cake click HERE

My mom took the kids to a movie this morning and then we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and went up into the canyon. We walked on the trails and enjoyed the shade and nature.

Jacob had to bring a bike so he could be as dangerous as possible

Overall, it was a great day. We had fun spending time together celebrating my mom and enjoying the outdoors.
p.s. the cake was pretty darn good too! Love you mom!

Girls Day Out

So after 2 months of no GDO, due to trips to Georgia and New Mexico, we finally got back on track Saturday. Me and my mom drove to Lar's apartment and then we went to the Salt Lake Temple. We ate lunch at P.F. Changs and decided to take Jacob our leftovers. With the exception of a few forgetful moments, that caused us to drive around a bit (I love you MOM!), it was really fun and so nice to be able to spend time with my sister and mom. I have to say that I am so grateful to have a wonderful husband, who I can leave the kids with all day and know that he is going to take them to the park, and play with them, and just have a great time. He is so good to me and the kids! Thanks everybody for a great day and get ready for next month when it is my turn to plan the activity!

Ryanne

This girl can make a mess like no other, throw fits, and say unbelievable things, but on the other hand, she is one of the sweetest little girls ever. Often, when I am looking for her, she is quietly sitting with my parents dogs, tenderly petting them and talking to them. She can occupy herself with the dogs for hours and she can also occupy herself playing for hours on end. She is trouble, but oh so sweet! I love my Ry-Bear!

Jonah Lost a Tooth!

Last week Jonah was sooo excited because he had his first loose tooth. A bunch of kids in his Kindergarten class had already lost teeth during the year and he was wondering and asking when was it going to be his turn. We went to a family reunion this past weekend and while we were sitting at the park eating dinner, he leaned over and showed me that his tooth was literally hanging on by a thread. (You all remember how that looks and feels right?) Well, for some reason it made me queasy, so Matt took over the duty of helping him get it out. It came out and he was sooo Happy! The only hard part was trying to get the tooth fairy to the hotel we were staying in overnight, but Jonah said a prayer that the tooth fairy would find her way, and somehow, through the mass of 5 people sleeping in 1 room, he was awarded 7 quarters for his tooth (INFLATION is hitting hard in all categories)
I took a couple pics of the space between his teeth and Savannah was watching me closely and wanted me to take a pic of her mouth too (She has lots of spaces for other reasons :)

Our new outside toys and a Delish Dish

This really isn't that impressive for a blow-up pool, but the kids have enjoyed it and I thought it was great that they could enjoy it in their clothes as well. Notice that Savannah has Ryanne's underwear on over her clothes. That is one of her new hobbies- putting on whatever clothes she sees laying around. No matter who it belongs too.

We got some sand toys too, so be prepared Aud when you bring the boys. The backyard is a little bit more exciting.
As for this treat- I know I have a food blog for the food, but this one is soo good that I had to mention it. You will love it- click HERE for the recipe! Thanks Aud for putting it on your blog and telling me about it!
