Late Start Monday leads to Late Start Tuesday and an almost miss by the Tooth Fairy

Maybe someone out there will disagree with me and that is perfectly fine, but who's idea was it to have Late Start Monday? In our school district this year, they decided that the first monday of every month will be late start monday. So, the kids sleep in (yeah right) and have to go to school at 10 am. I am guessing it is to help families to recover from the weekend and have a little more time to get used to the week starting.
Well, over here, it backfired. Everything was fine and dandy yesterday, we had time to dawdle around, do chores, read books, whatever really and had no problem getting to school at 10 am.
This morning however, I woke up at 6:30 and didn't here any movement upstairs (my brother has to leave at 7 am). Usually at that time, Andrew has already showered and is eating breakfast. I usually go to the gym in the morning and come home by that time to start making lunches.
I had to go wake him up and he was late for school.
Then, Jonah and Ryanne slept in until 8 and the whole tooth fairy thing caused a commotion.
Jonah lost his tooth yesterday at breakfast and put it in a sandwich baggie. He left it on the counter and by bedtime had forgotton about it.
Someone accidentally threw it away.
We didn't realize this until this morning, when Jonah remembered that he hadn't put it under his pillow and couldn't find it anywhere. Tears, tears, and more tears.
Matt, being the sneaky person he is, went to his car, got some loose change, and hid it under the papers, where the tooth was last seen.
Jonah discovered the coins and all was well. Except for the fact that it was 8:30, he was in his pajamas, and hadn't eaten his breakfast.
So, maybe late start monday isn't the culprit, but sometimes it is nice to have an excuse for the mayhem!

Hmmm. I would seriously complain if I had to have a Late Start Monday. Josh is so sensitive to routine that something as simple as that could throw us off for at least a week. Yuck!

I'm sorry this morning was so crazy. Have you been able to recover yet?

I have yet to hear anything positive about these Late Start Monday's - doesn't sound like anyone's liking it so far. I'm glad you got the tooth fairy situation resolved :)

Hi! I just found your blog and I'm so excited that you have one! I only get to see you in the halls at church since the ward split. How are things?

See you later,

I too thought it was lame- and its not always the first Monday of the month! (to annoy us just a little more!) It threw me off ALL day! Come on...early out Friday? Does that not seem more logical?

I have never even heard of such a thing.
