Today we drove out to a beautiful spot, where there were lovely daffodils, green grass, trees filled with buds and the sun shining down on us. We had gathered with other family members to a place that was dear to Papa Zeke. We spent a few hours in nature together and we were able to think about him and the special memories we have.

Papa Zeke passed peacefully last Wednesday night. Just a few short months ago we celebrated his 80th birthday. Savannah was born on his 76th birthday and it was always such a neat thing that they shared that special day.

Zeke was someone who always had a smile on his face. He would always greet you with a handshake or a soft hug. He had a gentle heart. He was a great Papa to my kids and to me. He brought a peaceful feeling to the room. He was honest and kind, smart and witty.

He has a place in our family and our hearts. We will miss you Papa Zeke and look forward to the day when we will see you again.
