Thinking of You

Dear Cousins Julia, Scott and Jeremiah,
It has been 5 years, but we miss you still. We are thinking of you on this day and can't wait to have our reunion with you in heaven. We will try our best to live worthy of you here on earth. We love you.

Eve

If you have seen the movie Wall-E than you will think this is funny. We were in Wal-mart yesterday and happened to see some plates and cups with Wall-E on them. The girls loved that movie and recognize him where and whenever we see him, so they were yelling "Wall-E", etc. We walked a few steps down the aisle and Ryanne said "Look, mom-theres Eve! Can we get her please?"
I had to take a picture of what she thought was Eve. It was a jar opener. A wierd looking one, but I had to laugh because the jar opener did look like Eve.
Don't you think?

Bucky

The kids love playing in the backyard with or without the dogs. The other day, I went out to see what they were up too and Bucky, the pooch above, was nowhere to be seen. The kids were outside bothering Socks, (Savannah likes to poke them in the eyes), and I wondered where Bucky could be. I went into the garage and there she was, all tucked in, on her little bed. The funny thing is, she wouldn't move. Ryanne had tucked her in with that little blanket and it was almost like she felt she couldn't move after being tucked in. Now, these little doggies are not ones who usually obey commands or stay in one place, but I just laughed at how Ryanne had taken care of Bucky and how comfy? she was. It was humorous.

Here is Savannah enjoying a green peach that she picked off the tree. No matter how many times you tell her, she just can't leave those green ones alone!

There she goes with her famous eye jab!

Tag

I've been tagged! The Rules are... tell about 6 quirks of yours and then Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same, be sure to leave a comment to let them know.

1. I have to have my feet tucked in every night. I prefer for my feet to have their own little blanket, so they stay nice and snug. Heather even made me a foot blanket and sent it to me on my mission.
2. I am constantly picking my fingernails and tearing them. I can't seem to let them grow. The noise drives people crazy.
3. I don't like shopping for clothes, I would rather just wear the exact same outfit everyday and never have to think about it again.
4. I like shopping for groceries and will search for certain ingredients (and pay too much for them), just to make a certain recipe.
5. I like dumb pop music, but probably wouldn't ever admit it to anyone.
6. I absolutely hate cold weather. I would rather be in extreme heat, sweating to death, than have to endure being outside in the snow and cold.

oh, I almost forgot, If anyone wants to do this tag- go for it!

Late Start Monday leads to Late Start Tuesday and an almost miss by the Tooth Fairy

Maybe someone out there will disagree with me and that is perfectly fine, but who's idea was it to have Late Start Monday? In our school district this year, they decided that the first monday of every month will be late start monday. So, the kids sleep in (yeah right) and have to go to school at 10 am. I am guessing it is to help families to recover from the weekend and have a little more time to get used to the week starting.
Well, over here, it backfired. Everything was fine and dandy yesterday, we had time to dawdle around, do chores, read books, whatever really and had no problem getting to school at 10 am.
This morning however, I woke up at 6:30 and didn't here any movement upstairs (my brother has to leave at 7 am). Usually at that time, Andrew has already showered and is eating breakfast. I usually go to the gym in the morning and come home by that time to start making lunches.
I had to go wake him up and he was late for school.
Then, Jonah and Ryanne slept in until 8 and the whole tooth fairy thing caused a commotion.
Jonah lost his tooth yesterday at breakfast and put it in a sandwich baggie. He left it on the counter and by bedtime had forgotton about it.
Someone accidentally threw it away.
We didn't realize this until this morning, when Jonah remembered that he hadn't put it under his pillow and couldn't find it anywhere. Tears, tears, and more tears.
Matt, being the sneaky person he is, went to his car, got some loose change, and hid it under the papers, where the tooth was last seen.
Jonah discovered the coins and all was well. Except for the fact that it was 8:30, he was in his pajamas, and hadn't eaten his breakfast.
So, maybe late start monday isn't the culprit, but sometimes it is nice to have an excuse for the mayhem!

Me

Have you ever spent your time wishing that you were someone else? Wasted time and energy being jealous of someone, or judgemental? Have you ever had that AHA moment when you are just happy to be yourself? Maybe you reconnect with an old friend, are able to really listen to someone who is having a really hard time, cry with someone who is heartbroken, or are able to emphathize with someone because of your own life experiences. You understand someone or something and feel human.
Sometimes it seems like when your heart breaks, it recedes and becomes smaller, has holes and you are vulnerable. But with time, you realize that your heart is actually enlarged. You are better able to understand and feel what other people are going through. It really is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. Isn't that what life is about anyway- Love?
Are you ever just satisfied with who you really are?
I hope so.
I hope that you have a moment that makes you realize how lucky you are to be yourself. A moment that you really are so happy to be you, that all your jealousy, self-doubt, judgements, and criticizm, all of it melts away and it doesn't matter anymore.
A moment when you have the time to think- I really connected with that person and I have alot to offer. I am someone. Someone Special.
I am glad to be me. With all my imperfections and all my life experiences, that have helped to make me who I am. I am thankful to have a wonderful, caring husband. Watching him connect with people, that makes my heart melt. He is such a good man. I am lucky. I am so blessed to have smart, wonderful, children, who are perfect. A wonderful family, sisters, brothers, parents, in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, all of them.
I am glad I have my heart. It has been through alot. Many breaks, pains, and troubles, but through all of those experiences I think I am able to love other people more and give more of myself. I am just glad to be me today. Really, sincerely, happy about it.

Utah State Fair

I know all my posts lately have had tons of pictures, but we have been having fun and I do leave some of them out, I promise! Laura Dawn has moved from a 5day work week to a 4 day work week. YIPPIE! That means that we have more time to get together because she has Fridays off. She also is a State employee, so we got discount tickets to the State Fair. I can't remember the last time I went to any State Fair, so it was fun for all of us. Savannah and Ryanne were so taken with all the animals, that it took hours to look at all of them. They also were able to ride some little ponies, which made Ryanne's day. She loves horses more than anything, so she was a happy little girl. We decided to skip the lovely fair food (I saw a sign for deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches-how do they do that?) and went to grab Wendy's instead. That is when we decided that we would have to get together every Friday, just the Females, and do something Fun, Free and include Frosties and Fries. Cheesy, I know, but I am looking forward to FUN Fridays!

Ryanne was on Smoky and she was in Heaven! Savannah was riding Thunder, she was a little scared at first but really enjoyed it later on.

I am sorry, but I just thought the pigs were ridiculously silly looking. They were all laying on top of each other and some were actually snoring. Lazy!

Ryanne had to touch every animal she saw and ended up getting nipped by a goat and a bunny!
This last picture is kinda funny. I won't really say anything about it, but it made me laugh. Fun times!
p.s. I prefer looking at live animals! lesson learned from previous outing

Our Trip to Provo

When Scott came to town last week for a few days, we decided to go to Provo- to visit Audrey and Scott's alma mater, not to mention the place that they first met (aww), to check out some of the campus sites and museums, visit Tessa, and just have a fun outing. Audrey is the queen of FUN! I wish she was still here :(

We walked around campus, went to the science building and ate lunch in the Wilkenson Center

We went to the Monte L. Bean Life Science musuem and I put Savannah a little too close to the stuffed animals.
It was good to see that Shasta the LIGER (that is for Matt- he wasn't with us on this outing and has never believed me when I told him the Hogle Zoo used to have a Liger) has found a permanent home. It was interesting to see all the types of animals, insects, birds, etc., but after a while it seemed a little creepy to me. I don't know why exactly, but luckily the kids have short attention spans, so we moved on to something else. It was a fun day! We miss you, Audrey, Scott, W and O!
